Hello Friend!
I currently live in Jacksonville,
IL where I was the pastor of First Baptist Church for 21 years from 1993 to
2014. I grew up in California and spent two years attending a California junior
college. I then transferred to Judson University in Elgin, Illinois where I
graduated in 1973. From there I attended Northern Baptist theological seminary
where I graduated in 1976 with a master of divinity degree. I have served in
churches in Paris and Morrison, Illinois; Mooresville, Indiana and
Jacksonville, Illinois. At present, I am the assistant chaplain at Jacksonville
Memorial Hospital. I love to do interim pastor positions. I have had four
interim positions since my retirement, the last one in Decatur, Illinois. I
have two daughters, Jennifer and Jana, and five grandchildren. I love to be
active: I play golf and tennis. I also enjoy traveling. I just returned from
surprising my father on his 90th birthday in California. My spiritual gifts are
preaching, teaching, encouragement and leadership. It’s a pleasure to accept
this part-time interim position at First Baptist Church Galesburg. Whether you are a first time guest or a long time member, I’m looking
forward to getting to know all of you very soon.
Pastor Jim
